The Agency

This agency is one of the largest and most prestigious independent communications agencies (around 70) with specialist teams across public affairs, corporate communications, healthcare and sustainability.

During the pandemic, they have had no redundancies, no staff on furlough and have pressed on with progression and promotions for staff, so we can confidently say this is a safe, secure and successful ship to be joining!

The culture is a real selling point of this agency: everyone genuinely gets on and regular socials are held. There’s no office politics, overly hierarchal environment or late hours and any issues are addressed swiftly. Everyone has a bespoke development plan, with plenty of training and agency wide lunch and learns that take place. If you deserve to be promoted you absolutely will be, the team are all for promoting and developing talent quickly. The result of this is that the agency has a very low turnover rate and people stay for a long time, which always speaks for itself.

The Role – Account Manager

This role sits in the corporate communications team of around 6, a team in which the revenue has doubled over the last few years.

In terms of clients there’s a real range to get stuck into, spanning FMCG, construction, travel, tech, FS and infrastructure. The type of work the team does is corporate communications through the prism of issues, helping clients overcome often hostile media environments and often related to policy in some way. You don’t need public affairs experience for this role, but an awareness and interest in politics and how that will affect campaigns is essential.

Of course, if you’d like to use this opportunity to spread your wings and gain some experience in public affairs then this is something the agency are happy to support alongside that team.

A JD can be supplied but essentially this role is an AM role where we need someone who knows the agency drill of press release, op eds and quote writing, media relations, client management and social media management/content creation.
