If you’re feeling fed up with not getting a return on your efforts at a senior level, this role can offer you ownership, influence and an equity stake. With an incredible opportunity to evolve, shape and lead an agency, this is the ideal challenge for someone ambitious and entrepreneurial.
A boutique and global communications firm with offices in the US and Asia and a diverse, international staff that speak eight languages between them. Clients include a mix of household names and start-ups in the areas of financial and professional services, fintech, biotech, renewables, blockchain and even travel.
One of their major strengths is the ability to work on cross-border campaigns but remain agile and hands on, unlike some of the globally networked agencies. Rather than pitching work out to local partners, they not only do the strategy and planning but also the activation. It’s what made them able to get one of their clients an interview with a top Japanese media title the day they landed in Tokyo.
The work they do is intellectually stimulating and challenging, including new market entry, new product launches, leadership transitions, M&A, capital raises, and IPOs and corporate rebrandings.
Culturally the whole agency is approximately 20 people, with 4 in the London team and the plan to add another 2-3 in headcount by year-end. Staffed by motivated, positive and talented people, it’s a collegiate and supportive atmosphere and they hire heavily on cultural fit.
The Role – Director/Agency Lead
This is a rare opportunity to become a member of the agency’s global management team. Working in tandem with the other region Directors and into the CEO, you’ll get the chance to stretch your leadership skills with the remit to build on the agency’s success.
However, this isn’t the type of role where your time will be taken up with operational responsibilities. The agency model has been set up so that all Directors are practitioners as well, so you’ll be working with clients to create communications strategies and deliver results.
It goes without saying that you’ll need to love and excel at new business so an agency track record is key. However, you won’t be starting from scratch: the agency has a good reputation and plenty of incoming interest.
The other absolute must is global experience. You’ll need to be international in outlook and experience, with a track record of working in and with other markets.
In return this role will provide you with excellent career progression, an exciting client portfolio and the chance to run your own office.
