We are looking for an In House Food & Digital Communications Manager to lead communications for this leading global brand, a pioneer both in the food & digital lifestyle space. This award-winning in-house communications team is growing from strength to strength.

The team covers the full corporate affairs remit, from consumer and corporate PR, to internal engagement and charity partnerships, through to public affairs and financial communications. No two days are the same. When mobiles ring or emails ping it could be anyone from an MP wanting to talk about our health credentials, to a Love Island contestant wanting a collaboration – as such, you will come from a communications role that is as versatile and open minded as our own culture.

Who are you?

You will be known as a driven, talented and dynamic PR practitioner with first class big brand consumer PR in house experience behind you. You will come from a solid in house role and have proven experience of managing agencies. You’ll also be accustomed to working with an integrated setting in that you’ll need to partner with the marketing, IT and digital teams to create annual external and internal communications strategies to promote and protect the brand’s cherished position as the nation’s best loved in their category.

You’ll be collaborative and open by nature, working alongside four other talented Managers and three super Specialists. One Specialist will be your direct report and you’ll also have the support of our team coordinator. Your focus will be ensuring our audiences have lots of brand love and tonnes of food lust!

You will bring excellent relationship management experience and strong media contacts from working on household consumer brands. A food and drink, retail or FMCG background would be ideal as would experience in health and CSR. Some agency experience would be great too.

As a confident, ambitious ‘people person’, you’ll love a fast pace and a challenge, whilst being credible and comfortable with everyone, from our hard-working store colleagues through to our dynamic new CEO.

You’ll have a demonstrable record in creating impactful national media campaigns, managing complex high-profile issues and dealing with demanding journalists, on the record. But you’ll also be happy to roll your sleeves up to ensure we balance our instincts with robust data insights; appreciating the difference between outputs and outcomes, recognising the importance of demonstrating ROI.

What is expected in this role?

As a senior member of the Communications team, you’ll deputise for the Head of Communications for crisis and issues management. Therefore, it’s important you are experienced in high pressured, sometimes complex situations, dealing with C-suite stakeholders.

It’s important to emphasise, this Communications team isn’t divided into traditional internal or external, corporate or consumer, creative or issues led silos. Our people enjoy representing their business areas to all audiences - from business to tabloid journalists, colleagues to MPs.

We understand a 360 approach isn’t for everyone, but we believe it’s the future as traditional channels and segmentations become increasingly blurred.

We also believe providing this breadth of experience ensures our Communications professionals develop a rare competitive edge, which sets them up for success in future senior leadership roles. And we really love people who want to develop, learn and flourish.

So, if you think this sounds like you, and you think sound like us, we’d love to hear from you. Along with the opportunity to work as a core component of one of the world’s most loved brands, we’ll provide a competitive salary along with a company pension, healthcare, discretionary bonuses, discounts on lots of high street brands, free parking, and of course – lots of edible freebies.
